What if every reader at your blog Tweeted your articles ? Would be fun and loads of traffic right ? Although every single reader tweeting your articles seems like a too good to be true idea, it would definitely help even if a quarter of them did.
Tweeting articles has become extremely easy these days, after all you have your Twitter client / Browser plugin ready all the time right ? But how about genuine readers on your blog ? Do they always tweet your articles by taking the pain of copy pasting the title and url ? I doubt if all of them do.
Adding a “Tweet this” button looks like a better idea here. It gives people a one-click solution to show their love to you, and takes the pain of copy pasting urls, off their shoulders.
Traffic to DSB have increased significantly after I added the Tweetmeme buttons you see on the top right of the article.
And the good thing is that I can track those people on Twitter easily (Who re-tweets from DSB) as they all come as retweets to me. I make sure that I follow all those who re-tweet articles from DSB, its nice to see it pop up from different parts of the world. Read more…

5 keys to setting up a blog.
1. Choose your domain name wisely – By this I mean a domain name which will give you a head start in generating internet traffic and visitors. You can use Google’s free keyword tool to find keyword phrases which have significant search volume monthly. By buying a good effective domain name you are guaranteeing a certain amount of visitors and page views simply through your domain name being relevant to the searcher’s request through the Google search engine.
2. Use WordPress – And I mean WordPress.org which will allow you to have your blog hosted on your hosting company’s servers. If you don’t, and choose to have your blog on Blogger.com or WordPress.com, you run the risk of losing your intellectual property (your blog) and all your hard work because your blog is not really your own property as you are not paying for your own hositng. I use, and recommend, Hostgator.com.
3. Fantastico – make sure that whatever hosting you are using that it has Fanstastico which allows you to install Wordpress in about 3 minutes flat with the minimum of fuss. Read more…

If you can type your name on a computer and you know the difference between Save and SaveAs, then by the end of this article you will be able to create a webpage.
To most nerds of computer programming, html is not even a programming language. They are right about one thing, its easy and with very little practice you can be developing your own webpage. So forget about the science and lets get straight to it.
The whole webpage file is created between 2 tags <html> </html> these tell your browser how to deal with what is between them. If you were to type plain text between these tags they would show in your browser as full lines of text, without format. You would need to use different tags to get the required effect you need.
For example a <br> tag is used to create a break to the next line in your browser. <font> is used to change the size, color and style of text.
Open notepad, wordpad or some word editor on your computer. Type in exactly what you see below in blue, or copy and paste it. Now Save As first.html onto your desktop. You can then chop and change the code to suit yourself. You must use the extension .html this determines that it is a html file. Read more…

First it was Instant Messaging, then Blogging and the rise of Social Networks and now the latest craze to hit cyberspace is Twitter – a real-time micromessaging service that allows people to instantly communicate with a group individuals who choose to follow, for any number of reasons, their thoughts or activities.
Twitter is the brainchild of author Jack Dorsey (@Jack), and although it’s only been around in its current form since 2006, Dorsey and co-founders Evan Williams and Biz Stone’s simple application is on target, according to Neislen.com, to be the most-rapidly growing Member Community phenomenons for the foreseeable future.
Drawing from the Short Message Service (SMS) platform, Twitter allows people to post “tweets” – little bursts of text-based content that communicates status updates and, on occasion, “pearls of wisdom” – to a network of followers on the Twitter website, and the subsequently SMS devices and other external applications. Due to size limitations dictated by SMS devices (most basic cell phones were constrained to160 characters before a short message was split) Dorsey choose to limit a tweet to 140 characters leaving 20 characters for the user name. Best of all, Twitter is currently a free service, and all indications are that it will remain that way. Read more…
